Prof. Payne is an expert in international and environmental law for earth systems governance and teaches international and environmental law at Rutgers University. She has served as counsel on behalf of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and the United Nations compensation Commission in cases regarding climate change, fisheries, deep seabed mining and environmental reparations.
