Natalia Andrea López Acero, BA (National Pedagogic University, Colombia), MA (Aix-Marseille University-University College Cork), is a junior expert in sustainable development currently enrolled in the MSc Sustainable Development program at University College Dublin, focusing her research in environmental law, governance, and climate justice.
She was one of the 22 mentees of the mentorship program Women4Climate, from C40 Cities and the Bogotá’s Office of Environment in 2023. Natalia promotes the sustainable management of organic waste through EcoBosque Urbano, an environmental community initiative at her neighborhood. As an environmental leader, she was elected as one of the members of the Local Environmental Commission at Engativá, a citizenship participation instance where its members support environmental management, public policy formulation and implementation, as well as environmental community initiatives with public and private sectors at the local, district, national and international levels.
She has collaborated with Human Rights organizations such as the United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia, the Mission to Support the Peace Process of the Organization of American States, and United for Justice, as a translator. She is fluent in Spanish, English, and French.
