Kanisha Acharya-Patel is an environmental lawyer from Toronto, Ontario. She has a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Conservation (2018) from the University of British Columbia and a Juris Doctor from the Dalhousie University Schulich School of Law (2022) with specialized certificates in environmental law and Aboriginal and Indigenous law. Kanisha completed her legal internship with Ecojustice, Canada’s largest environmental law charity, and is a member of the Ontario Bar. Kanisha’s research interests include biodiversity conservation, gender equity, enforcement of international environmental laws and the increased responsibility of global north countries in mitigating climate change.
